Doug, so far, I have used 32 Tortoise on my main station & mainline - & 10 Peco ( with Masterswitch) in the storage.
To maintain uniformity of operation, I use the Kadee Quickie pushbuttons on panels ( as they are small) for all points.
Tortoise are changed direction by relay action - relay locks in on one button & released by the other.
Train control is by NCE PowerPro.

I saw the SmartSwitch in action at the NMRA Convention during September in Brisbane, Aust.
If I did not have a large amount of Tortoise & Peco motors before I saw them in the flesh, I would go for them.
