I have a zero 1 digital control system which I think was the first can operate up to 16 trains and 99 accessories. 16v AC in track each controller can control 4 trains. I have master unit and two slaves.

Hi Neville,

Welcome to the forum.

I have an idea that Trix or someone similar also had some form of multi-train control using the same basic principles.

Can't help wondering if Hornby had developed Zero 1 properly that they would have been the "father" of DCC instead of Lenz !
I had, but scrapped many years ago, an Airfix MTC (Multiple Train Control). I think that this pre-dated Zero 1 by about a year or so. It was not very reliable; engines used to move if another one ran close by. The chips were huge but were obviously the best that they could produce at the time.
