I was able to meet up with Dr Ziegler from Zimo and Arnold Hübsch, one of the Zimo dealers that helps them out at the show. As ever language is quite tricky, but Arnold is very good at explaining the details of the new products and answering questions. I had a demo of the MX31ZL that was shown as a prototype last year.

The range is basically the same as before. Cabs:

And power stations:

The new 21-pin direct decoder with servo outputs. See servo below. This could be used for applications like the Roco cargo wagons. See the Roco report.

Micro server that can be connected to the decoders with servo outputs.

The Zimo range of decoders.

The Zimo MX31ZL is a complete all-in-one DCC system. Plug in the transformer power and connect to the track and you have a DCC controller and power station.

This is an interesting application showing how the RailDriver Cab Controller can be connected directly into the USB port of the MX31ZL. No computer needed. It was quite fun to use.

It's listed on their site at $169.95

It was fun to play with. Suited for large scale trains with all the 'bells and whistles'. Usually used as an interface with Microsoft Train simulator.
