Hi Babs,
I like Swiss railways as I like all railways but I don’t love them (sorry!).
I am also surprised that there isn’t a kit available but I’m worried that it may be extremely expensive to 3D print such a station.
Might it be better to go for something where it is cut out of thin plywood or thick card by laser? I know it would still have to be assembled and painted etc. That may not be too difficult a task though, I’ve built a couple such kits and they go together quite easily.
Just a thought.
Good luck,
John E.

That will be impressive and it's a great excuse for a wide range of trains. I've been there a few times and once managed to catch a DB ICE2 train to Berne.

One particular memory is of the swallows which had made their nests in the platform canopy along side the station building.

Hi John & David I know what you say John about sort of Scratch building but I am useless. I am really into 3d printing. But i am no architect. This persons work is impressive I cannot share at the moment. The cost when you consider some of the larger Faller or Vollmer kits there is not much difference in the price I want this to be really special and I know what I am like about gluing Faller kits and so on I will ask if I can share by pics of this persons work.

Hi Babs,
Okay, no problem! It certainly will be a doddle for you if it is all printed.
Actually, I’ve just remembered, my H0 scale class 20 bodies were quite reasonably priced - when you first said 3D printed, I was thinking of Shapeways prices, they are extortionate.
Cheers,
John
Hi John I will not be building it the guy who is doing it will give me the completed model.
Other wise I would just mess it up.
Babs. Ps do not let me near a bottle of glue and any plastic kits😄😄😄

Pete Hi The Interlaken Station is still on the drawing stage it is being done on a part time basis. The 3D drawings i have seen are fabulous. I could not draw them myself
He then test prints in N Gauge and if all works well then the Ho version.
I have also ordered it in N Gauge for my N gauge Swiss Layout

I am building Interlaken Ost in HO/HOm and have been searching for a suitable quality station building or kit. Nothing close until I stumbled across your post on the forum. Would you mind if I asked for a model in HO to be built? - I will obviously contribute to any costs you have incurred to design the 3D cad work if you have had much outlay. I assume the 3D print is just a process based on the final CAD drawing.

Either way I will keep looking for updates with much interest.

Regards

Pete

Hello, It has been a long road to this Build as the Guy who is doing it for me has had Covid 4 times in last 2 years.
I do not think he will give or sell the STL files Either. One of the questions you may consider Do you want it fully made like me or in kit form I take it you are in the USA?
I am Just recovering from Major Limb Surgery and I will contact him when I am able in the near future
Thank you for your understanding

Yes, I am in the USA, but I visit Switzerland all the time and I am recreating the train ride from Interlaken to Jungfrau as my layout. This would be a great station to place on the layout. Let me know what you find out. I would be willing to take it in kit form if he just wants to make the pieces. I am use to building all my structures.

Hi Sorry I did not get back to you sooner.I will ask the Guy How he would like to proceed. On the understanding that I receive my models first As this has been a long road for both myself and the guy who has done all the drawings and Scaled up to Ho and printed it and constructed both stations whilst having bouts of Various Covid infections.
I will see what I can do for you
In the mean time I am rcovering from Major limb Surgery at nearly 70 it is not easy in my case.

Hi Babs,
Hope this finds you well & of course that the recovery is all progressing well & you are still on track for the next stage in the Autumn, as previously planned.
Was flicking through some of the older threads & came across this one, just wondered how things are progressing on the Stations front, out of interest ?
Cheers for now, Norm

Hi Norm, my recovery is getting there it is at a stage where it should be 5 months post Op.No issues with the Hip at all Just a tiny bit of lower leg & foot swelling compared to when I returned from lithuania. My knee op is not far away now 7th october just going through the final medical checks before going.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE.
Well I never after not having any communication through our normal channels I decided to write a strongly worded Email with a view to tell me to bog off.
Fortunately he did not and He has finished them both in N & Ho We are now msking arangments to receive them both before I go away I will upload pics as soon as I can of the N Version
The sorry thing about this is 4 years ago I had an offer from a Hungarian guy who was going to do it for around €350 and he was going to give me the STL files & Drawings. But I prefered a Btitish person As the Hungarian Person did not want stage payments we shall see. I will wait till I get them in my Hands first.
Ran my Accucraft Saxonian 1K on wednesday at a friends garden railway but in my excitement of trying to control the beast & Crutches I could not do a video but here is a lovely pic she runs like a dream. TTFN Babs
