Hi,

Does anybody know if Railmatch are still trading please? I sent an order in at the end of August, the money was taken from my account on 3rd September but I still haven't received anything. I did get an apologetic email late September to say my order had been overlooked, but have had no reply to 4 subsequent emails and I can't find a phone number to ring.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I picked up some railmatch paints at an exhibition the trader seemed to think they were still trading as I asked him about availability of certain colours he didnt have with him.

Except that they seem to stock the full range of Railmatch Paints. Surely they could not use the 'Railmatch' name for a different make of paints without infringing copyright.

Hi,

I think the emphasis is on the portion of the comment I've put in italics

No one has claimed they are marketing their own product as Railmatch Paints, they are offering that range while trading as Railmatch Models.
Les hasn't confirmed that he had indeed ordered from Railmatch Models but if that is the case he is relating a similar plight to that covered on a couple of recent threads on another forum.

The simple answer is that Railmatch Paints are still very much with us and Howes presumably could supply contact details if all else fails, Railmatch Models only show an email address on their site, no postal address or telephone number up front - something I always check to see before placing any online order.
If Les had paid through Paypal then he can report the failure to supply to them for help, if he sent a cheque then he'll have a postal address so maybe he should contact his local trading standards people to see how he can pursue the matter.

Regards, Gerry.

Hi Gerry,

I think we may have ended up at cross purposes. When Les said he had ordered from 'Railmatch' I presumed he meant Railmatch Models, otherwise he would have said Howes.

I've been having a look around the web to see if there are any contact details for Railmatch Models but can't immediately find any. I have, however, noticed a marked similarity between the Railmatch Models Web Site design and that of Model Depot in Leeds which may indicate some sort of business link.

Just a thought but maybe worth a try contacting Model Depot on the off chance they are connected.

If you are still having problems, try speaking to your local Trading Standards Department, often a nudge from them will produce the goods, or an answer. Where abouts in the Country are you? i could let you know the contact details for your nearest Trading Standards.
