I'd like a full set of plates for D817, Foxhound, including worksplates and steam-style shedplates.

Where is the best place to get them? Severn Mill, who I have bought excellent stuff from in the past, do not list this particular loco......

Although slightly off topic, do they happen to do HO plates, - I'm looking for a set for my Fleischmann Warship of the same number (repainted maroon with fyp as the last maroon one running - I think). Somewhere on MRF there a link to a photo of it at Salisbury.

Regards

Narrow Planet will produce any plate in any scale. They can work on the design, or if you have a design, then you can supply it. Giving photos or drawings and final dimensions of the plates will help make the results better.

I gave them the CAD file to produce the plates that I ordered. We just changed the loco numbers. I just happened to have this, but didn't make it myself.

There are other photo etching services, but I've only used this company. Check them out: http://www.narrowplanet.co.uk/

I have to admit I was rather hoping NOT to have to pay someone to make a special. I've done this before, and it is rather galling to find that the seller then lists the "special" at normal price, once you have paid for the artwork.

I KNOW someone has to pay, but surely it could be added to everyone's bill?

Does anyone know of someone who lists the plates I want?

You could try Guilplates. I have had specials made in the past and they were only a couple of quid dearer than a stock item. Contact them at....

We don't charge any extra for "specials" as each batch of nameplates is a one-off etch tool, so the same production costs are always incurred. We may re-run the same or similar artwork on another batch for other customers but they will always pay the same price.

Cheers,

Try Diane Carney, I had some shed plates for a 7mm 47 made up and they are perfect (also you get enough to cock a few up, but don't tell everyone

).

Great service.

Why don't people have websites in this day and age?
They do....first line of a google search for Diane Carney reveals http://www.loco-nameplates.co.uk/
