This is my first post in this section. Some may have come across my freebees if you do a bit or forum surfing, but for those who haven't here is the deal....
I want to share with as many fellow modellers as I can some free card kits I designed for my own layout called Wordsworth.
These kits are in no way to compete with great kit designers such as Scalescene & Metcalfe, but are very good introductions to modelling with paper & card.
The kits are very simple to construct hence why I believe these are good starter kits, they also make excellent board fillers as each kit only takes approx 20mins to construct then you will have them on your layout to enjoy the whole railway theme.
Each kit is downloaded in RAR format, inside you will find a standard PDF file which you open using your preferred reader, print each kit onto normal paper & then for best results glue to 300gsm card (But you can use what ever you have handy - maybe cornflake box)
Once the glue is dry it's a very simple case of cutting out the kit, score all the sections to aid folding & then hold in shape with some standard glue, it is really that simple.
Like I said they are not up to the usually high standard you get from Scalescene or Metcalfe but they will still look good on your layout. I have them on my own sitting against Scalescene & Metcalfe buildings & they look fine.
So if you fancy having a bash at one or maybe all of these kits you will find them at;
http://www.mike.martin.dsl.pipex.com
They are free with no hidden catches I just thought since browsing these forums helped me in building Wordsworth the only way I could return this favour was to provide these for others just starting out.
Hope you enjoy & please feel free to leave feed back or comments.
Mike.
